Tips for getting the best results
Stop the problem at the source
On your iPhone, go to Settings → Camera → Formats and pick “Most Compatible”. New photos are then captured as JPG, so you won't need to convert again. Existing photos stay HEIC.
Use 90% quality for photos that matter
HEIC is efficient, so converting to JPG will grow the file. Keeping quality high preserves detail; you can always compress afterwards if size becomes an issue.

Expect the first conversion to pause
Browsers can't read HEIC natively, so the tool loads a decoder on first use. That happens once per visit; everything after it is fast.

It says it can't read my file
Check the photo really is HEIC or HEIF. Photos already exported or screenshotted from your iPhone are usually PNG or JPG — use the standard converters for those.
The first conversion is taking a long time
That's the one-time decoder download, roughly 3 MB. On a slow connection it can take several seconds. Once it's loaded, the rest of the batch converts quickly.
The JPG is bigger than the HEIC
Completely normal. HEIC stores the same image in about half the space, so converting to the older JPG format inevitably increases the file size.
My Live Photo only converted one frame
Live Photos combine a still image with a short video. Only the still frame converts to JPG, since JPG can't hold motion.
